How we print folding brochure
A folded brochure gives you six panels for the price of one A4 sheet, and the fold itself organises the reading: cover, inside spread, back panel with contact details. The tri-fold (letter fold) is the workhorse for services and product ranges; the z-fold reads as a strip and suits step-by-step or timeline content; the gate-fold opens like doors onto a large inside spread and suits a single hero product or property.
The fold is where cheap brochures fail. Heavier stock cracks along the fold unless it is scored first, so every art-card brochure we print is scored on the press before folding. On 170 GSM gloss the fold is clean without scoring, which is why it is the default for volume runs.
Set your artwork with the panel widths we supply — the inner folding panel of a tri-fold is a few millimetres narrower than the others so it tucks in. Send the design or the content, approve the PDF proof, and the brochures ship folded and boxed.

Which fold should I choose?
Tri-fold for most service and product brochures — it is what people expect and it fits a DL envelope. Z-fold when the content reads in sequence. Gate-fold when one large inside image or plan is the point. Bi-fold when you want four generous panels rather than six narrow ones.
Will a 250 GSM brochure crack at the fold?
Not when it is scored, which every art-card brochure we print is. Cracking happens when heavy card is folded without a score line — a common cheap-print failure. 170 GSM gloss folds cleanly without scoring.
How should I set up artwork for a tri-fold?
As a flat A4 sheet, both sides, with 3 mm bleed. The panel that folds inside is about 3 mm narrower than the other two; ask us for the template and we send the exact panel widths.
Do brochures come folded?
Yes — folded, counted and boxed. You do not fold anything.
What is the minimum quantity?
1,000 pieces on offset, which is where the per-piece price makes sense. For 100–500 pieces ask for a digital-print quote.
